The Mortgage Branch is a new kind of broker, and was founded by Miles Wallace and David Knight
Our ambition is simple...
‘To help clients achieve their mortgage ambitions and home ownership dreams AND in doing so, help to improve the environment we all live in by planting a tree for every mortgage that completes.'
From our head office in Cheltenham we operate throughout the South West, including Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester, Worcester, Chipping Norton, Painswick, Oxford, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and the Cotswolds, so wherever you're based, you can guarantee you'll get a personal service.
‘Nine to Five’ means nothing to The Mortgage Branch team. We are completely and wholly focussed on providing round the clock service to our clients. Whether that means early morning meetings before work, to evening home and office visits, weekend and bank holiday meetings and getting back to clients late into the night! We work for you, and nothing beats our commitment and focus to you as our clients!
Meet The Team!
Ever since I started working, I wanted to provide people with the utmost service. This developed when I helped start my Dad’s business at the age of 16. I quickly realised there are many competitors out there, but very few can provide a service which can be relied on every time, and this is what I wanted to create with The Mortgage Branch.
I have been a Mortgage Advisor since October 2010, firstly at the Chelsea Building Society, and then I worked with Andrews Estate Agents, helping establish two new branches in the local area of Gloucester while servicing my existing clients in Cheltenham.
Since April 2017, I have worked on a self-employed basis and, as demand grew, myself and David (who actually taught me how to become a Mortgage Advisor in the early days at Chelsea!) teamed-up to ensure the high levels of service we pride ourselves on was able to be maintained, and even improved.
With the extensive knowledge we have between us, as well as the professional approach we take with all our clients, I believe we provide some of the very best advice in Gloucestershire, across all areas for each individual need. This spans across the financial markets and sourcing the right mortgage products, to local knowledge of the area with an array of different professions and professionals only a call away to help us, and our clients, in areas we do not specialise in.
I have lived in Cheltenham since 2005 when I came to study Business Management & Economics and couldn’t think of a better place to live. I enjoy mountain and road biking, am an avid swimmer, enjoy the occasional game of squash when my knee permits, and of course spending time with my loved ones, friends and family.
I have been in the Financial Services industry for the past 14 years. Throughout this time I have worked across much of the South of England and held a wide variety of positions that have given me a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of Financial Services.
My absolute passion has always been mortgages and helping people to realise their home ownership dream, saving them money on their mortgage, protecting loved ones, and helping people achieve what they never thought possible.
Through founding The Mortgage Branch with Miles, I am now able to use my extensive knowledge and experience to give all of my clients outstanding advice and service relating to ALL their mortgage and protection needs.
I truly love working with, and advising, clients to wholly support them with their long term mortgage ambitions and protection needs. It is, after all, the biggest financial decision that they will make in their lives, and it is a real pleasure to be involved in supporting all my clients to get that decision right, both now and in the future.
Through this approach my clients receive a full, personal service from initial contact right the way through to application, completion and throughout the lifetime of their mortgage and protection needs.
I currently live in Longlevens with my wife Rachael, and two young sons Henry and George.
Outside of the office I am still somehow, at 37, playing rugby for Old Cryptions in Gloucester, look forward to the occasional round of golf, read extensively, and most importantly enjoy spending time with my young family, and friends, seeing what Gloucestershire has to offer.
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
I have been working in the Financial Services industry for the past 6 years, the last 4 of which have been as a Mortgage Advisor, helping those from all walks of life secure mortgages on their homes and investment properties.
I have worked for large institutions, but now as a broker for smaller companies where I am able to offer a truly personalised service.
My first role in Financial Services was within Mortgage Collections for the Yorkshire Building Society, dealing with clients that had fallen on harder times through no fault of their own.
It was during my time in this position that I truly realised the importance of having the correct protections in place, and have made this my passion ever since.
I like to spend my spare time outdoors, walking with my two daughters and my dogs. I also have a Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust membership, which enables me to visit plenty of beauty spots and outdoor attractions as well.
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
I have been a Mortgage Broker for the past 8 years, starting with Countrywide Mortgage Services and then moving on to The Mortgage Advice Bureau.
During this time I gained extensive experience in all areas of mortgages, whether it be for First Time Buyers, Home Movers, Buy-to-Let, Let-to-Buy, Self-Build or the various Help-to-Buy schemes.
Another key element of my role is to ensure that my clients and their families are fully protected no matter what life may throw their way. I am able to advise on a range of options that will be there to help you remain financially independent, should you fall on hard times.
I joined The Mortgage Branch due to their attitude towards social responsibility and the environment, and I really resonated with their values and goals.
Outside of work I enjoy walking my 7 (!) dogs, and have recently taken a strong interest in self-sufficiency and will be attempting to feed myself with my home-grown fruit and veg as much as possible.
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
I have been in financial services for just over 15 years working with both investments and mortgages but focused on mortgages for the last 10 years.
I have dealt with, and deal with, anything from 1st time buyers, home movers, re-mortgages, Buy to Lets to development finance. I have a can do attitude and will always look at all available options to help my clients achieve their target of owning their own property.
Through it all, I can confidently say that I don’t know everything (that’s right!). The beauty of joining The Mortgage Branch is that where there is a situation I haven’t come across before, I am surrounded by people and resources to help find a solution to solve my clients problem. Having worked within other brokerages and estate agencies, I can say the The Mortgage Branch is truly something different with client need and servicing at the centre of their proposition, which is allied to how I like to conduct myself.
My spare time is filled with spending time with my family which includes two cats, Tigger & Boots (blame the toddler for the names), movies (mostly anything my toddler likes!) and rugby where I have played for Exeter Chiefs, Cinderford, Cheltenham & Old Patesians and currently a charity raising team, The Egg Chasers, who are currently raising money for the Motor Neuron
If you want to chat about anything mortgages (or rugby) please feel free to call!
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
I have worked as a mortgage adviser for just over a year now and have gained a great deal of knowledge over this time. Previously I have spent over 12 years working within estate agency, mainly focused on letting and property management. I really enjoy meeting new clients and helping them to achieve their property dreams.
I’m really looking forward to learning as much as I can from my very experienced colleagues here at The Mortgage Branch to enable me to progress in my career.
My spare time is focused around my partner, my five year old son Hugo and our crazy Bengal cats Bert and Ernie.
We enjoy spending time outside together exploring the local canal paths and eating out (the cats stay at home!). I love to cook for my family and love being the hostess! I absolutely adore the summer and am always looking to plan our next family holiday in the sun.
I have over six years’ experience working within the administration sector, but in my most recent years I have spent my time working within a travel company and have been fortunate enough to have lived and worked in many beautiful places all around Europe.
However, I am now very keen to lay down some roots and am excited to begin my career working for The Mortgage Branch.
I thoroughly enjoy building relationships and rapport with people I cross paths with within the work place, and I feel my experience of working with people from all over the world has moulded me into a friendly and well-rounded team member.
I am very much looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the financial services industry and am eager to play a role in supporting our clients and their mortgage applications in assisting their progression from application to completion and beyond.
One of my key interests is all things vintage. Whether it be in my fashion choices, old movies, or my catalogue of eclectic music from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
In my spare time I enjoy catching up with family members, as I have plenty of them dotted all around the county!
I have been in the Financial Services Industry for the majority of the last thirty years having started work at Lloyds Bank when I left school and then moving on to work at the Head Offices of both Chelsea Building Society and C&G.
After leaving C&G, I went to work for a small family run company in Cirencester, packaging mortgages for a panel of thirty or so lenders. Working with this company for a number of years really honed my skills as a mortgage administrator, we regularly packaged between 200-300 mortgages a month as a team.
Following this role, I went to work part time for a local mortgage broker assisting with all aspects of his mortgage administration and enjoyed being involved in the whole process, from the initial contact with the client through to the satisfaction of the mortgage completing and then providing ongoing support for all financial matters.
In my current role at The Mortgage Branch, I feel that I can use my extensive knowledge and experience to support the whole team in giving their customers the best service.
Outside of work I love holidaying in Cornwall and have a real passion for musical theatre.
